United Way Stuff-A-Bus at Cordello
Cordello Elementary School received dozens of boxes of school supplies which were generously donated by The United Way of Long Island during the organization's Stuff-A-Bus initiative. The large Suffolk Transportation Service School Bus rolled up to the school where Principal Dr. Nathaniel Marner, Assistant Principal Yenifer Mercado and School Social Worker Ivette Barbosa guided sixth grade student helpers to unload the bus where items will be stored in the school before being distributed to neighbors to help get their children off to a great start for the new school year. News 12 Reporter Caroline Flynn was on hand to cover student volunteers busily unpacking the bus. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sharon A. Dungee and Dr. Marner thanked The United Way, Suffolk Transportation and Zebra Technologies for their generous contributions, and expressed pride in the way the students volunteered and answered questions for News 12.
