Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome Back to School! We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and high spirits. As summer comes to a close, it's time to gear up for another exciting academic year in our wonderful school district. We eagerly await our students' return and look forward to embarking on a journey of learning, growth, and kindness together.

The theme for this school year continues to be "Kindness." We believe a kind and supportive environment fosters optimal learning experiences for our students. This theme reflects our commitment to promoting empathy, compassion, and respect in our classrooms, hallways, and beyond. We encourage our students to embrace acts of kindness, big and small, as they navigate their educational journeys.

Please mark your calendars! The first day of school is Wednesday, September 6, 2023. We kindly request that you ensure your child arrives on time, fully prepared, and ready to embark on a year filled with learning opportunities and exciting challenges.

In the Central Islip School District, we believe that education is a collective effort, and we are grateful for your trust in us. We are excited to welcome back our returning families and warmly welcome those joining our school district for the first time.

Our dedicated team of educators has been working diligently to create engaging lesson plans, interactive activities, and a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students. We are committed to providing an exceptional education that caters to each individual's unique needs and talents.

We value parents and guardians' crucial role in their children's education. Your support, encouragement, and involvement contribute significantly to their success. We encourage you to maintain open lines of communication with teachers and staff throughout the school year. Together, we can foster a strong partnership and ensure the best possible outcomes for your child.

In closing, let me leave you with this inspiring quote by an unknown author, "Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear, and the blind can see." Let's strive to make kindness our guiding principle as we navigate the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead.

Once again, welcome back! We look forward to a successful and rewarding academic year.

Sincerely,
Dr. Sharon A. Dungee
