It is hard to believe how fast the summer has passed!  We now enter the new school year with the anticipation of success and the excitement of a new year.  Parents can deliver a message of how important school is right at the kitchen table!  When our students return home from a long day at school a refreshing healthy snack is the best way to reenergize.   This can be an excellent time to ask our youngsters about their day.  Most importantly, this is a good time to take out their homework assignments and get a jump on completing their work.  Students get a good sense of accomplishment when their homework is done and they can then enjoy the rest of their evening.  Yes, the magic kitchen table can be an excellent foundation for telling our students that school is important!

¡Es increible que el verano haya pasado tan rápido! Ahora entramos al inicio de un nuevo año escolar con expectaciones positivas y el entusiasmo que trae un nuevo año escolar. Los padres podrán hablar sobre lo importante que es la escuela durante la cena.  Sería muy estimulante darle a los estudiantes una buena y saludable merienda cuando ellos retornen a sus hogares después de un largo día escolar.  Este también sería el momento propicio para preguntarles acerca de su día en la escuela.  Aún más importante es aprovechar la oportunidad de sacar sus tareas y asesorarse que completen sus asignaciones.  Los estudiantes se sentirán más aliviados cuando terminen sus tareas y luego podrán disfrutar del resto de la noche.

¡La hora de la cena puede ser el momento más apropiado para decir a nuestros estudiantes que la escuela es lo más importante!
